Stay tuned. There may be an announcement soon.

Book Bus on Hiatus

Unfortunately, the Book Bus will not be operating this month and possibly longer. The bus will not pass its safety inspection without a significant amount of repair work so the L.O.G.S. board has to consider repairing or replacing it. I’ll post more information as it becomes available. Please pass this information on to people who use the bus but may not be online.

Thank you quilters!

A big “thank you” to the Kitwanga Quilters for another generous donation of kids’ books to the Book Bus. Thanks!

Wednesday, August 29, 2018 – on the road again!

Good news! The Book Bus is back on the road and today’s scheduled trip to New Hazelton and Tse-kya will proceed as planned. 🙂

Just leaving Roche View Lodge. I’ll be at the Red Apple parking lot in a few minutes. I’ll stay there until about 3 pm.

Down for repairs

The bus is currently down for some major repairs but there’s a good chance we’ll be back on the road in time for the next scheduled run to New Hazelton and Tse-kya next Wednesday, thanks to the generous efforts of Joel Letendre.

CANCELLED

UPDATE: There will be NO Book Bus run today due to mechanical issues.

Getting ready…

Getting the bus ready for Pioneer Day in Hazelton. The Book Bus will be parked in Old Town for the afternoon on Saturday. See you there! 🙂

Western Run Update

Starting in May, the Western Run (Kitwanga, Gitanyow, Gitwangak) will be every other Sunday instead of every other Saturday. The first regular Sunday run will be on May 6, 2018.

Western Run: Sunday instead of Saturday?

We are considering switching the Western Run (Kitwanga, Gitanyow, Gitwangak) from every other Saturday to every other Sunday, starting in May.

Last weekend when I went on Sunday instead of Saturday, I had more people than I usually get. The transit bus now has a Saturday trip to Terrace and people often have events on Saturdays so maybe Sunday would be better. What do you think?

On the Road Again

The Book Bus is ready to roll again! Thursday afternoon, I’m going to Gitsegukla and South Hazelton. I’ll try to make up some of the missed runs. Stay tuned for updates.

Thanks are due to Joel Letendre for doing the repairs, to Napa in Smithers and to Aardvark Towing in New Hazelton for giving us discounts on parts and towing, respectively. We are also grateful for the monetary donation from the Kitwanga quilters. They didn’t know it but they donated just in time to help offset some of the costs of the repairs. The community support for our program is greatly appreciated.
